Creator Brief: Organic Muslin Bibs

Creator brief

Organic Muslin Bibs + High Chair Placemat

Thank you so much for creating with us. This page lists the shots we need most, with a simple sketch of each, so nothing is guesswork.

In your parcel: a 5 pack of our Organic Muslin Baby Bibs in your chosen colour set and, if your high chair fits it, a Silicone High Chair Placemat chosen to go with it.

We'll use your content on our website, our Amazon listing and our social channels, always credited to you on social. The must-have shots matter most, and the rest are a bonus.

What to show off

Three details make these bibs different, so please try to get each one on camera:

  1. Two fabrics. Soft organic cotton muslin on the front, plush white terry towelling on the back that soaks up dribble and food.
  2. A wide, rounded shape. It covers the chest and collarbones, not just a small triangle under the chin.
  3. Two snap positions at the neck. A snug fit for newborns, and a looser one as baby grows.

Every pack is five different coordinated colours, not five of the same. The placemat is soft silicone and sits flush in the IKEA Antilop tray and its lookalikes (Kmart Prandium, Big W Uno and Target Snacka), which makes it a natural partner for the bibs at mealtimes.

Photo shot list

Six must-have shots cover everything we need. The bonus shots are welcome if the moment comes up naturally.

4 Towelling back Your hands holding the bib open or flipping it to show the white towelling side
5 The set of five All five bibs in a fan or a row, shot from straight above in daylight
6 Wide shot with space Landscape. Baby in the high chair on one side, plain wall or empty space across the other half

9 Fabric close-up The muslin crinkle up close, with window light from the side
10 Wash day Bibs on a drying rack or washing line
Sketches of the six must-have shots

The sketches only show framing. Your own home, light and baby will look different, and that's exactly what we want.

Mealtime at the high chair

One meal can give us shots 1, 3, 4 and 6, plus most of the video clips, if you shoot it in this order:

  1. Set up by a window. Turn the high chair side-on to the daylight and, if you have the placemat, press it flat into the tray.
  2. Bib on while it's clean. Do up the snap before baby sits down, then take shot 1 straight away.
  3. Add colourful food. Age-appropriate foods with colour, such as pumpkin, berries or avocado, show up well on the muslin and the placemat.
  4. Let baby go for it. Keep shooting through the meal for shot 3. The messier the better.
  5. Show the clean-up. Hold the bib up to show where the food landed, then flip it to the towelling side for shot 4. Wipe the placemat clean in one swipe (a great video clip).
  6. Step back for the wide. Before lifting baby out, take shot 6 in landscape with the high chair to one side of the frame.

Video clips

Short, simple clips are perfect. Film them vertically unless noted, and hold still for two or three seconds at the start and end of each.

Clip What happens Length
Snap on Your hands doing up the neck snap, in one position then the other 5 to 10 s
Mealtime Baby eating in the high chair, food landing on the bib 15 to 30 s
The flip The bib held up after the meal, turned over to the towelling side 5 to 10 s
Placemat wipe The placemat wiped clean in one swipe About 5 s
Colour reveal The five bibs laid out one at a time, or unrolled from the pack 10 to 15 s
Slow pan (bonus) A slow sideways pan across all five bibs in a row, filmed landscape About 10 s

Please leave out music, voiceover and on-screen text. We'll add our own, and clean clips are easier to reuse.

How to shoot

  • Light: shoot near a window in daylight, with no flash. Switch off warm overhead lights, which turn the colours yellow.
  • Framing: take each must-have photo twice, once upright and once landscape. For shot 6, leave about half the frame empty.
  • Backgrounds: plain and light where you can. Move bottles, toys and packaging out of frame.
  • Clothing: plain clothes in soft, neutral colours, without big logos, characters or slogans, so the bib is the star.
  • Settings: highest quality, no filters or beauty modes. Wipe the lens before you start.

Safety, do's and don'ts

Baby's safety and comfort come before any shot. If they're not in the mood, stop and try another day.

  • Stay with baby the whole time, with the high chair harness done up.
  • Bibs are for awake, supervised time only. Take the bib off before naps or sleep.
  • Use age-appropriate food, prepared the way you normally would.
  • You choose whether baby's face is shown. Hands and over-the-shoulder shots work beautifully too, and we never use baby's name.
  • Please don't call the bibs "certified organic", "GOTS" or "hypoallergenic", or say they prevent rashes or any other health problem. "Organic cotton muslin front, towelling back" is accurate if you want a phrase.
  • Please don't name or tag other bib brands, or shoot in the bath, in bed or during a nappy change.
